• For a wealth of information on caring, look at Carers UK
• If you live in Surrey, you may be interested in details on training courses for carers and transport links. See Carersnet for more details
• Carers Direct is an NHS service that offers free, confidential advice for carers in many languages
• Support Line also offers confidential support, advice and information for young and adult carers
• The mental health charity Rethink Mental Illness provides a lot of useful information for carers including jargon-busters and factsheets
• The Children’s Society Include Programme caters for those under 18 who are looking after a parent or sibling
• If you are concerned about the way you or someone you care for has been treated, contact the NHS’s Independent Complaints Advocacy Service (ICAS), which explores the different options for raising your concerns
• If you or the person you care for has a disability and you need help, advice or specialist equipment, contact Surrey Social Information on Disability (SID)

• Royal College of Psychiatry leaflets on a wide variety of mental illnesses, available in many languages
• The Alzheimer's Society produces a fact sheet on what is dementia?
• Rethink Mental Illness have several publications available via their online shop
• The Wise Mouse published by Young Minds is a book to help children with parents with a mental illness.
