Talking Therapies

Many people find it helpful to talk to someone about their experiences. Talking therapies can take place as individual, group or family sessions depending on what you prefer and are seen as a very important part of treatment in an early intervention service.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a group talking therapies that looks at the relationship between how we think, feel and behave. CBT has been shown to improve mood, behavior and feelings by testing and trying out what is different ways of coping with day to day difficulties. So in this way, CBT is sometimes described as an active therapy as the therapist and person using CBT actively try out different ways of coping with and overcoming a range of difficulties.
