Recovery

  • People can and do recover from a psychotic episode and the EARLIER you get help the better.
  • Your care co-ordinator will help you IDENTIFY ways to COPE with symptoms and difficulties you have.
  • Learn to COPE with stress and try to avoid conflict as much as possible. Use relaxation and breathing techniques to help in stressful situations.
  • Create a PLAN of what you would like to be done if you should become unwell again.
  • Get ACTIVE - be more active and start going out and seeing friends again, GRADUALLY
  • Employment & Volunteering – We as a service can help you find employment whether it be paid or unpaid and help you to access college courses.
  • AVOID DRUGS & ALCOHOL - They are both depressants.
  • Lots of RELAXATION; Learn deep breathing exercises, go for walks, listen to calming music
  • Social Group - We run a weekly social group which provides a safe and welcoming environment to meet new people. The group do various activities and it can help you to know what is available in your local area.
  • Remember to take your prescribed MEDICATION until your doctor agrees otherwise. You will have regular reviews to discuss talk about your medication.
