All welcome to Support for Carers event

You are invited to our free event, 'Support for Carers' on Thursday 15th June in Godalming. The event will provide information about the support available to carers.

Our Trust is holding a free event which will provide information about the support available to carers to help them in their vital role.

The ‘Support for Carers’ event will take place on Thursday 15 June, 10am-1pm at Broadwater Pavilion, Guildford Rugby Club, Guildford Rd, Godalming, Surrey GU7 3DH.

We are inviting carers and the people they care for, as well as members of the public, to join governors, members of the Trust and staff for a morning of interactive and informative carer-related sessions.

The event will be hosted by professionals from our Trust, including carers practice advisors and the manager of our Recovery College, which offers health and wellbeing courses in a relaxed and informal educational setting, and there will be a presentation on a new service for carers in Surrey from the Chief Executive of Action for Carers, Jamie Gault. The Red Cross will also be holding a session on delivering first aid to help carers know how to respond in an emergency situation.

Carers UK estimate the value of care provided by the nation’s unpaid carers as £132 billion per year, at an average of £19,336 each.* It also estimates that by 2037, the number of carers in the UK will increase to 9 million.

There will be an opportunity to explore information stands to find out more about the support in your area and to ask questions. Exhibitors on the day will include Surrey Young Carers, Surrey Coalition of Disabled People and Surrey Welfare Rights.

Refreshments will be provided. If you are interested in attending please book a place through our Membership and Engagement Team:
