Nominations open for CYA Awards

The CAMHS Youth Advisors (CYA) Awards are taking place on Thursday 26 April, to recognise the achievements of young people with mental health problems and the professionals who have helped them.

CYA are a group of young people who are or have been under the care of Surrey CAMHS (Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services) and work with professionals to help develop and improve services.

The group was established in 2008 and plays an active role in decision-making, regularly initiating new projects to further develop participation in CAMHS and ensure better outcomes for children and young people.

Nomination requests and invitations are sent to all CAMHS clinics and services in Surrey, where professionals and young people are asked to nominate anyone they feel deserves recognition. Last year’s ceremony saw forty exceptional people honoured.

If you know someone who deserves an award, nominations can be made online (deadline - 5pm, Friday 20th April.)

The ceremony will be held at Wates House, University of Surrey, Guildford, GU2 7XH from 6pm – 9pm (dress code: smart-casual). Please register if you would like to attend.
