Art Without Limitations, is a free exhibition from local artists, celebrating the positive contributions made by those who overcome difficulty.
It will be open at Guildford Cathedral between Tuesday 21 August and Sunday 9 September - coinciding with this year's Paralympic Games.
Guildford Diocese is inviting anyone who has a sensory impairment; mental illness; physical or learning disability (of any age) to submit their artwork for inclusion.
If you would like to display your work, please register your interest in the first instance by completing the attached form and returning it by Saturday 19 May 2012.
We will then contact you to discuss the number of pieces of work we can receive from you or your group etc for selection.
Spaces will be limited and we want to include as many artists as we can.
Artwork can be on an individual or collective effort but please be aware there is no monetary or prize reward for any entry – just the satisfaction in sharing your work with others.
A competition has been launched to design a community mosaic on the theme of ‘Sport’ and capturing the “Spirit of the Games”.
The exact design will be adapted from the winning by artists who specialists in creating large-scale mosaics.
Visitors to Art without Limitations will each be able to insert a piece and gradually create a unique artwork. The finished article will be displayed at the Cathedral afterwards for others to enjoy.
Anyone can enter. Download the flyer with further details.
Art Without Limitations has been organised with kind permission of the Dean and Chapter of Guildford Cathedral.
Competition entries will be judged by representatives from Surrey County Council, Surrey and Borders Partnership NHS Foundation Trust and Guildford Diocese.
