Service Description

Our Mind Matters Surrey (previously Improving Access to Psychological Therapies - IAPT) service is open to anyone aged 18 or over living in Surrey and experiencing mild to moderate mental health difficulties such as:

  • Anxiety and stress
  • Excessive worry
  • Panic attacks
  • Depression, including pre- and postnatal depression
  • Obsessive Compulsive Disorder
  • Phobias
  • Post traumatic stress disorder
  • Eating difficulties that are not severe

  • Our experienced staff will help you find ways to address your concerns. Many of the treatments we offer are based on talking therapies and we have different options including individual therapy, group therapy and workshops or courses.

    Treatments may take place over the phone or face-to-face with our psychological wellbeing assistants, practitionsers and psychological therapists.

    We also provide guided self-help material, give employment advice through our partner organisations and provide information on other local resources that you may find helpful.

    Referral Process

    We accept referrals from anyone wanting to access the service directly, from concerned friends or family, and GPs. Once we've received your referral, we will call you within three working days and let you know. Or if your GP has asked you to make contact with us, please call within 14 days. In both cases, you'll be offered an assessment appointment within 10 working days.

    Referral Criteria

    Anyone aged 18+ with a mild to moderate mental health problem.
