Specialist Psychological Services is made up of discrete teams offering a range of services, which is organised around a Hub and Spokes Model. This means that there is a virtual central hub of Specialist Psychological Services, where the services are then provided by a number of different service spokes in specific geographic localities and/or for specific conditions. As a result the Specialist Hub and Spokes model is able to deliver more coordinated services across Surrey and Borders by having shared standards and strategy.
Specialist Psychological Services provides a range of specialist psychological approaches to people requiring step 5/6 interventions in terms of the Stepped Care approach. This means that the services provided are predominantly for clients with moderate to severe psychological difficulties, who have usually undergone some brief intervention in Community Mental Health Teams before being referred to specialist services.
Attached below are a number of different documents to help clarify the organisation of the Specialist Psychological Services provided by Surrey and Borders, including a map to show where the different service areas are.
