Arts Therapies

The Arts Therapies Service includes: Art Therapists, Dramatherapists and Music Therapists.  Although each of these adopts a different approach, the principal uniting aim is developing an Arts based therapeutic response to the needs of people using the service.  It is offered to people with significant difficulties requiring more specialist help.

An emphasis is placed upon the general experience of "making", whether this be; sounds, images, stories or enactments.  We aim to support and promote this process, as it can play a crucial part in a person’s emotional, cognitive and psychological development.

It is important to stress that the Arts Therapies are not concerned with levels of skills or ability.
