Service Description

Hope is a joint partnership between health, children’s services and education. It works on a preventative level with children and young people in the early stages of emotional and mental health difficulties / distress.

This can be though direct or indirect intervention.

The service is for 11-18 year olds experiencing emotional or behavioural difficulties that effect their ability and confidence to deal successfully with life at home, at school or at college such as:

  • Anxiety
  • Low self esteem
  • Behavioural difficulties
  • Depression
  • Relationship problems
  • Lack of confidence
  • Isolation
  • Self Harm

Unusual thoughts or experiences 

There are two centres based at Epsom and Guildford but the Hope Service will also visit young people at home, support young people when they are facing a crisis and provide a day service that provides a structured programme and education.

The day services offers the following programmes:

  • Group therapy
  • Art therapy
  • Activity Groups
  • Groups focussing on specific difficulties around self esteem, anger management, self harm and communication
  • Individual sessions of Psychology, Art Therapy or Occupational Therapy
  • Education for under 16s
  • Work experience
