Keeping Active

There is now a wealth of research to show that exercise helps mental health by relieving symptoms of depression, reducing stress and boosting self-esteem.

We know that motivation, the cost of sport, and a lack of confidence can be big barriers to taking part so we organise and support a number of free or low cost local initiatives to encourage people who use our services to be more active in their daily lives, one step at a time.

Get Moving is our campaign to encourage people to improve their mental health through physical activity and challenge stigma surrounding mental health and learning disabilities. Every Autumn we hold our Get Moving walk and fun run -  find out about last year's Get Moving event.
