TIHM (Technology Integrated Health Management) for dementia was part of the Test Bed Programme launched by NHS England in 2016. One of the keys aims of the Programme was to modernise the health care system using new technologies to benefit older people with long-term health problems. The TIHM for dementia Internet of Things system was tested in two separate studies across Surrey and NE Hampshire involving hundreds of participants. The benefits of the system were widely covered and praised and TIHM for dementia won several awards, including the HSJ Award for Improving Care with Technology and the Regional NHS 70 Parliamentary Award in the Future of the NHS category. Below are some of the key highlights in developing the TIHM for dementia system.
