Service Description

STARS is a CAMHS team that focuses on the needs and wellbeing of children and young people who have been affected by sexual abuse. The service we offer includes:

  • Therapeutic group work for children and young people

  • Post-group individual therapeutic sessions for children and young people

  • Therapeutic group work for female carers

  • Joint working with CAMHS colleagues in cases involving sexual abuse

  • Joint working of cases with the Assessment Consultation Therapy team, where appropriate

  • Initial home visit assessment to all cases referred to CAMHS from the Solace Centre and signposting to other services.

The STARS team provide training in working with children and young people who have experienced sexual trauma as part of the Surrey Safeguarding Board. We’re also happy to organise bespoke training to external agencies.

We only accept referrals from health, social care and education professionals.
