Health and social care research helps us learn about why we become ill and what we can do to stay well. It advances our knowledge so that we can find new treatments, change the way we deliver care, prevent illness and improve the environment, health and wellbeing of local populations.
We support research that benefits people who use our services and the communities we serve. We have studies for children and young people, dementia, substance misuse, eating disorders, learning disabilities and mental health.
The study is evaluating the clinical and cost effectiveness of Standardised Diagnostic Assessment (SDA) tool as an adjunct to usual clinical care in children and adolescents presenting with emotional difficulties referred to CAMHS.
Parents and carers of those aged 0-16 who have been referred to CAMHS for any emotional difficulties. If the young person is aged 11-15 they can also take part with parental consent. Young people aged 16 and 17 can take part and choose if their parent or carer also gets involved.
Filling in online questionnaires about the young person’s mental health and allowing the study team to collect data from your clinical notes.
If you are interested in the study or would like more information please contact the Research and Development Department, on 01932 722247 or email research@sabp.nhs.uk. We would love to hear from you!
