We are looking for two Consultant Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists to join our CAMHS Community Crisis Team, and complement our team that has been building and establishing itself for over a year. Our Surrey wide Crisis Service works across the four CAMHS Community Team localities as well as the five District General Hospitals (DGH) within Surrey. This is a great time to come on board and help us to develop and enhance our offer to children and young people across Surrey who are in crisis.
The Team comprise of a General Manager, a clinical lead and a team of Band 6 crisis intervention workers. You would be based in West or East Surrey covering referrals from CAMHS Single point of Access (SPA), CAMHS CT or the DGHs. You will work closely with your team as well as colleagues in DGHs, Hope Service and CAMHS CT. You may also be involved in Mental Health Act assessments following Section 136 presentations to Farnham Road Hospital, Guildford – these are mainly carried out by the Hope Service Consultant who only works 3 days per week. Individual Section 136 assessments also come with the standard additional payment. You can find more information on our Mindsight CAMHS Services here.
Surrey has so much to offer as a place to live and work and also has excellent road and rail network links to both London and the coast. Heathrow and Gatwick airports are in close proximity for international travel. There is something for everyone no matter what your passion or interests outside of work.
Continuing Professional Development is a high priority for the Trust and you will be strongly encouraged to continue with further education in accordance with the recommendations of the Royal College of Psychiatrists enabling you to grow and develop in your role. We particularly welcome psychiatrists with a strong interest in medical education and/or research, and would support people’s interests in those roles. For newly appointed Consultants mentorship is available and promoted. There are established CPD groups and peer group meetings, as well as scope for supervising GP/Psychiatry trainees and teaching opportunities for medical students.
If you want to join and be part of a progressive Trust and supportive peers/team, then we would love to hear from you.
