Our trust has launched a Green Plan for 2025–2028, to support the NHS’ ambition to reach net zero emissions.
The plan sets out how we will:
- Reach net zero across our operations and wider influence
- Create healthier, more sustainable spaces for care and work, like our award-winning Silverwood site
- Reduce waste and energy use through smart systems and lighting
- Increase greener transport options, including electric vehicles and improved cycle facilities
- Embed sustainability in everything we do, from digital innovation to how we buy goods and services
By reducing our environmental impact, we are helping to tackle climate change and pollution, improve health, and ensure our services are fit for the future.
Our new Green Plan was developed with input from colleagues from across our trust. It aligns with national NHS sustainability targets and sets clear deliverables to drive progress. A new Sustainability Committee has been set up to make sure we keep up momentum in this important area.
