Upcoming Governor Elections
We are governed by a Board of Governors who hold us to account for our performance.
The governors, with the support of our members, ensure our work is in keeping with our values, meeting the needs of our local communities and supporting everyone who uses our services.
Our Trust will open nominations for vacant seats on our Council of Governors from 20 September. A special election website will open on that date.
It will have full details of the constituencies that are open for election, and all the information necessary to stand and/or vote. Please return to this page for a link to the site from 20 September.
In the meantime, please do view the links below for a fuller understanding of how the Council of Governors works. Current Members of the Trust, will receive full details of this election by email or post.
You must be a Member to stand or vote; if you are not yet a Member, you can become a member for free, join here. The process is very simple and takes just a few minutes.
What do Governors do?
Our Council of Governors is made up of people who have been elected by their fellow members and of professionals from organisations closely linked with Surrey and Borders. Our Governors hold the Board of Directors to account for the Trust’s performance and represent the interests of our members and local communities.
Public meetings are held four times a year and the duties of our Governors include:
- Appointing or removing the Chair and Non-Executive Directors
- Approving the appointment of the Chief Executive
- Representing the interests of our members and the public at large
- Appointing the Trust’s auditors and receiving audit reports
- Scrutinising the Trust’s annual plans
