Surrey & Borders Partnership is a mental health trust in the Health Education Kent, Surrey and Sussex (HEKSS) Region.

We provide safe, effective and high-quality care for people with mental health needs across a range of settings. This includes General Adult psychiatry services, Children and Young people services, Older Adult services, Learning Disability services as well as specialist services such as Eating Disorders, Addictions, Perinatal, Liaison Psychiatry & Medical Psychotherapy.

The job descriptions contain information on the location of the post, supervisor details, learning objectives and indicative timetable including when supervision should take place. The job descriptions also include a curriculum map summary indicating which parts of your curriculum are covered in the particular post, as well as expectations for clinical and educational supervision.

Post allocations

For Core Trainee 1 (CT1) new starters we will get in touch as soon as Health Education England send us your details. CT1s usually do 6 months of General Adult Psychiatry and 6 months of Old Age Psychiatry (or 12 months of General Adult Psychiatry).

For CT2-3s we will send you a list of available jobs and ask for your preferences approximately 4 months before changeover. CT2s should do a 6 month development job (Child & Adolescent Psychiatry or Learning Disability) during CT2. CT3s can choose from a range of more specialist jobs including Psychotherapy and Eating Disorders.

Localities

For training programmes the trust is separated into 3 localities each with its own Out of Hours Rota & Academic Programme:  East/Mid Surrey, North West Surrey and South West Surrey. 

  • East/Mid Surrey locality has placements in West Park (Epsom), St Ebba’s (Epsom), Gatton Place (Redhill), East Surrey Hospital (Redhill) and Margaret Laurie House (Reigate). 
  • North West Surrey locality has placements in Ashford Hospital (Ashford), Unither House (Chertsey) and Bridgewell House (Woking). 
  • South West Surrey locality has placements in Frimley Park Hospital (Frimley), Theta (Frimley), Aldershot Centre for Health (Aldershot), Hope Service (Guildford) and Farnham Road Hospital (Guildford).
