Building a new hospital is much more than bricks and mortar; we want our inpatient services to provide the very best in modern mental healthcare, and that’s why we need people who know, and feel passionately, about our services to help shape our two new mental health hospitals.
We want to transform the outside spaces available for people using our inpatient services. When we rebuild the Abraham Cowley Unit and build our new hospital in East Surrey, we’re looking to create inviting spaces which will improve the sensory, visual and therapeutic environment and support a person’s recovery journey.
If you’re passionate about this topic, join us for a virtual event on Wednesday 4th November 12 pm - 2 pm to help shape our designs. This interactive session will be led by our architects, IBI, and our landscape architects, the Terra firma Consultancy. We're looking for people with lived experience of mental health to support us; so, whether you've used our services in the past, are a family member or carer of someone who has, or you work for our Trust, please come along to share your ideas and challenge our thinking.
