What is the study about?
The More Respect study is investigating whether attending sexual health information sessions with a specially trained health professional can improve sexual health in people with severe mental illness. It compares outcomes between those who attend the sessions and those who do not.
Who can take part?
Individuals aged 16 or over who are currently receiving treatment from community mental health services and have been diagnosed with a severe mental illness.
What is involved?
The participants complete a variety of questionnaires assessing their wellbeing, relationships, and sexual health. Depending on the group to which they are randomized, some patients may also participate in an intervention focused on learning about safe sex practices and building positive relationships.
