Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards Policy and Procedure
This policy and procedure is intended for the use by all staff working for SaBP. It describes the actions to be taken by all members of staff at registered homes and hospitals within the Trust who are, or intend, to be accommodating a person who they believe may come within the scope of the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DOLS).

Section 17a Community Treatment Order
The purpose of this policy is to ensure that there is a lawful and appropriate use of Community Treatment Order (CTO) and that the legal rights of any patient subject to a CTO are upheld at all stages.

Section 132, 132a and 133 Rights Policy
The aim of this policy is to give all staff clear guidance on the correct procedure to follow once a patient has been detained. This will ensure the detained patient and nearest relative are immediately empowered to invoke their rights under the Mental Health Act (1983) - specifically Sections 132, 132A and 133 and the MHA Code of Practice 2015.
