What we do
Our Psychiatric Liaison Team supports adults aged 18 and over who are experiencing mental health difficulties while receiving care in a general hospital.
We work in emergency departments and hospital wards, helping people with their mental health alongside their physical health needs.
Our team includes psychiatrists, mental health nurses, social workers and occupational therapists. We assess people's mental health needs, provide treatment and help them access further support where needed.
Who we support
We support people in hospital who need help with their mental health, including:
- Older people experiencing dementia or delirium.
- People who have self-harmed and are receiving care in an emergency department.
- People with existing mental health conditions who are in hospital for a physical illness.
- People who need emotional support following a physical health diagnosis.
