Helpful e-learning resources

We actively encourage employees to participate in CPD. There are multiple e-learning opportunities available that can be accessed for free.

  • e-Learning for Healthcare
    e-Learning for Healthcare (eLfH) is a Health Education England programme run in partnership with the NHS and professional bodies. A variety of free, interactive materials are available. Courses of particular relevance are:
    • Antimicrobial Resistance
      This programme has been designed to support health and social care staff (clinical and non-clinical) in a variety of settings to understand the threats posed by antimicrobial resistance and ways they can help to tackle this major health issue.
    • Dementia e-learning
      This programme supports health and social care staff in recognising, assessing and managing dementia, and providing high quality dementia care.
  • The Open University
    The Open University offers many free e-learning modules through their Open Learn and Future Learn portals.
  • The Commonwealth of Learning
    The CoL encourages the development of open learning and distance education knowledge, resources and technologies.

In partnership with the Gender Identity Research and Education Society (GIRES) we have launched an e-learning module; Caring for Gender Variant Young People. GIRES promotes research into gender identity development and together we have designed the module for healthcare staff of all levels and disciplines. The course is free and takes approx. 45 minutes to complete.
