We are one of the top 10 Mental Health, Learning Disability and Community Trusts to work for nationwide

Our Trust has been ranked ninth by HSJ in the top Mental Health, Learning Disability and Community Services Trusts to work for across the NHS. The ranking is based on staff feedback in the annual NHS Survey and follows an impressive response rate.

The annual Staff Survey is one of the largest workforce surveys in the world and is carried out every year to improve staff experiences across the NHS. The survey is aligned to the NHS People Promise.

We had an impressive 61 per cent response rate, well over the 52 per cent average response rate for the 51 Mental Health, Learning Disability and Community Services Trusts (MHLD) across the NHS.

We were delighted to place ninth on the HSJ’s top MHLD NHS Trusts to work for nationwide based on our staff survey results. Of the Top 10, our Trust shows the second-best four-year improvement – up 7.9 per cent since 2019, a trend we are keen to continue.

We scored above the national average in all areas that are important to staff

The staff survey has nine themes, with multiple questions in each theme. Our results show that we are above the national MHLD average in all areas, which are:

  • We are compassionate and inclusive

  • We are recognised and rewarded

  • We each have a voice that counts

  • We are always learning

  • We work flexibly

  • We are a team

  • Staff engagement

  • Morale

  • (The results for ‘We are safe and healthy’ have not yet been published due to an issue with the data)

We value all the feedback and insights we have received from our staff, and will be guided by this as we strive to ensure that our working environment is positive for all.
