Our research and development aims are to embed a vibrant research culture within our Trust, increase the opportunities for people to participate in research and ensure that our research benefits people who use services, carers, families and our communities.
We are delighted to be able to offer placements within our psychology services. Placements are a great way to gain valuable experience in a clinical environment with people who use services, colleagues, professionals and members of the public. For those who are wishing to apply for the doctorate in clinical psychology, placements offer good relevant experience in an NHS setting.
To be entered on to our database and informed of honorary psychology assistant or psychology placements as they become available, you must meet the following criteria:
Other criteria may apply for specific posts but you must be able to drive and have access to a car during your placement hours, as you may be required to travel to different sites across the Trust to help facilitate alongside a psychologist. If this is the case then travel expenses are paid.
If you meet the above criteria and are still interested in having a placement with the Psychology service, please complete this form and return it to:

Your details will be entered onto our database, allowing us to send to you information about placements when they are available. This is a continuous process throughout the year as placements are identified throughout the Trust. Candidates will need to specify which placements they would be interested in being considered for. Each placement will require an informal meeting with the relevant psychologist. For successful candidates, an enhanced DBS clearance check, occupational health check and references need to be carried out prior to the start of a placement.
