Referral Process
We accept referrals from GPs and Surrey and Borders clinicians. It helps us if base line blood tests and ECG results are made available, plus height and weight and frequency of behaviour in the referral letter.
Waiting Times
N/AReferral Criteria
People should be stable before being accepted for care by us - we will offer consultation and advice during acute phases of medical or psychiatric disturbance, but will not be actively involved in treatment until the person is stable.
We are not a service for people who are obese and want to lose weight. If a person is referred to us for help with over-eating, we are likely to recommend they are referred to a local weight management service to support them with healthy weight loss.
People with binge eating disorder may be offered an evidence-based group recovery programme based on CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy). This is an eight week Managing Binge Eating course which is run by our psychologists and has no upper BMI threshold.
We are happy to discuss any potential referrals on the telephone.
