A new social media video campaign featuring advice from experts on mental wellbeing to help children and young people stay well this Christmas launches on Saturday,14 December.

The videos feature advice and tips shared by clinicians from Mindworks Surrey, the local provider of emotional wellbeing and mental health services for young people. Mindworks is led by our Trust, in partnership with other NHS and third sector providers. The videos also feature staff from other organisations including Surrey County Council and online wellbeing platform, Kooth.

There is also insight from local young people from Consulting Youth Advisors, a group of young people who are passionate about making emotional wellbeing and mental health services in Surrey better. They share the top things they do to look after their mental health and wellbeing.

The videos cover a wide range of mental wellbeing advice and tips, along with links to resources and support. Topics covered include: how to make a self-care box which can help manage your emotions, and how to use the Wheel of Wellbeing tool, which can help you achieve a balanced, healthy lifestyle.

There is also information on how to access resources for young people with neurodevelopmental needs and how to create a safety plan to keep yourself well.

Justine Leonard, Director of Young Peoples Services at Surrey and Borders Partnership, who features in the campaign, said: “This time of year can be really busy for people, and we also know that for some, it can come with feelings of stress or loneliness.

“The 12 Days of Wellbeing campaign highlights the wide range of support that is available for children and young people across Surrey. Why not have a look at the videos and try out some of the strategies.”

Mindworks Surrey will share a new video each day between 14-25 December on its Instagram, Facebook and X accounts. All 12 videos are also available on the Mindworks Surrey website for those who are not able to access social media.
