Our Trust’s Research and Development (R&D) team is recruiting participants to be part of a pioneering study that is developing new ways to help people with dementia live well at home.
Working in partnership with Imperial College London and the University of Surrey, our R&D team manages award-winning research programme ‘Minder’. This is a remote monitoring platform that uses AI along with digital devices in the home to help identify and flag health issues. Minder is currently piloted in 75 homes.

Our R&D team manages the study, all engagement with participants, and provides the monitoring team which follows up on health issues flagged by the technology to help people receive support early.
Digital devices being trialled include wearables, blood pressure cuffs, sleep mats and sensors. People have the option to participate in MRI scans and blood tests.
We are looking for people with dementia and their carers to trial these technologies and provide feedback. Participants must be over 50 years old and be living at home.
Professor Ramin Nilforooshan, Consultant Psychiatrist at our Trust and Clinical Lead for the UK Dementia Research Institute Centre for Care Research and Technology said: “Minder helps us identify need early on, so clinicians can provide meaningful contact with people with dementia and their carers when needed. I believe it’s the future.”
Data collected by Minder will increase understanding of the progression of the disease and helps to develop algorithms that support early identification of a range of health issues.
