Learning Disability Acute Hospital Liaison Nurses

Our specialist nurses and nurse associates work across Surrey's five general hospitals, to help acute staff identify adults with a learning disability and make sure they are offered reasonable adjustments when they go to acute hospitals for emergency, planned admissions and outpatient appointments. The nurses also provide learning disability specific training to acute staff and support them to create and use easy read information.

The nurses are available Monday to Friday, 9-5, with some flexibility around these hours, at the nurse’s discretion.

Our specialist nurses work across Surrey and North East Hampshire’s GP surgeries, to help primary care staff identify adults with a learning disability and make sure they are offered reasonable adjustments when they go to their surgery. The nurses also provide learning disability specific training to primary care staff and support them to create and use easy read information.

The nurses are available Monday to Friday, 9-5 (excluding bank holidays), with some flexibility around these hours, at the nurse’s discretion.
