Our courses are education-based, not therapy. They provide a safe space for you to learn about managing emotional intensity. Our courses are run jointly by people with lived experience of mental health difficulties who are in recovery and skilled clinicians who come from various mental health backgrounds. You are invited to participate in discussions, and share your experiences but will not be pressured to do so. How much or little you share is totally up to you, and participating in discussions is again your choice, but as with many things, the more you put in the more you are likely to benefit from the course.

The courses are 2- 2 ½  hours long with a short break halfway through. Our courses are currently being run online on Microsoft Teams currently but participants may have options to access face-to-face courses too.

To attend our courses online you will need a computer, laptop, tablet or a smartphone (android or iPhone) with video and audio functions and stable internet access. Once you are booked onto a course you will receive an email with all the details you need to enable you to join the online session. Please let us know if you would prefer a face-to-face course.

Each course starts with a brief check-in and ice breaker to help you to get to know one another and there will be a brief check-out at the end of the session to find out how you found the session.

If you feel anxious about accessing any of our courses please let our administrators know and they can arrange for one of the facilitators to speak with you prior to the course to answer any questions you may have.

We aim to support people as much as we can so please do make us aware early of any additional needs that may otherwise make it difficult for you to access our courses so that we can explore what adjustments may be beneficial for you. This could be any learning difficulties, physical health conditions or if you are feeling very anxious.
