The Advice and Guidance 18 Years + Service provides a single, simple, and direct route for GPs to request brief clinical advice from a mental health specialist. It is the most robust and efficient channel for GPs to gain specialist insight and support quickly for anyone aged 18-years-old and over, including people who are over 65.
Most advice and guidance requests tend to be medication-related, and this service ensures that GPs can directly contact a community mental health pharmacist and receive additional psychiatric support, should this also be needed.
The Advice and Guidance 18 Years + Service is available directly via the e-Referrals Service (eRS) online platform.
For inquiries about the service contact the service manager, Ozma Tahir, Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Surrey and Borders Partnership ozma.tahir@sabp.nhs.uk.
