Service Description
The Managing Emotions Programme supports people struggling with fluctuating, intense emotions, including people with complex needs and traits of personality disorder.
You don’t need any formal diagnosis of illness to join the programme. Access to the service is via the GPIMHS/MHICS team who will discuss the most suitable course with you and complete the referral.
The Managing Emotions Programme offers three courses of increasing intensity and group members can choose which they want to attend. It is possible to attend any of the courses, in any order. All courses are co-produced and co-delivered with people who have lived experience of difficulties associated with a diagnosis of personality disorder.
A further course is available specifically for carers of people struggling with intense emotions and can be accessed here: carers who can self-refer by completing this booking form.
See our course prospectus for further details.
Referral Criteria
Referral via GP only for those experiencing emotional difficulties. Carers of people experiencing intense emotions are able to self-refer to the programme’s Carer Course.
Referral Criteria - No formal diagnosis is required. The Programme is for people struggling to manage fluctuating and intense emotions, and also for those caring for people.
