The Safe Haven in Aldershot is moving to temporary premises from Monday, 21 February 2022, ahead of plans to move to a permanent site in the town later in the year. Safe Havens provide people experiencing a mental health crisis or emotional distress with expert out of hours mental health support.

The existing Safe Haven at 121-123 Victoria Road, Aldershot, will continue to see people in person and virtually until 11pm on Sunday, 20 February. After that date, the Safe Haven will then be based at 8 Andover Way, GU11 3RJ. It will be open to support people from 6pm on Monday, 21 February ensuring that there is no disruption to the service.

News of the temporary move was communicated to people who use services, partners and stakeholders in December 2021. It follows a decision by the landlord of the Victoria Road building to sell the premises. Significant efforts had already been underway for some time to find a more suitable building, for the Aldershot Safe Haven. Walpole House, Pickford Street, Aldershot, has now been identified as the new permanent home for the Safe Haven and it is expected that the service will based from there from summer 2022.

The temporary Safe Haven at Andover Way will be open from 6pm-11pm Monday to Friday, and from 12.30pm-11pm on weekends and bank holidays. People will be able to continue to receive help both in person and virtually. People can connect to the Safe Haven virtually by clicking on this link: https://nhs.vc/sabp/safe-haven-aldershot

The journey time by car from the Safe Haven at Victoria Road to the new temporary Safe Haven at Andover way is six minutes and there is ample parking. The same route on foot takes about 30 minutes. Public transport is limited. There is a number 15 bus service that covers most of the journey. However, the service stops early to mid-evening.
