You don’t have to manage stress alone
Stress is something we all experience. It can affect how we sleep, eat, think, and feel. But small changes can make a big difference to how we cope.
Throughout April, we’re sharing simple, evidence-based ways to manage stress and support your mental wellbeing. Whether you’re looking for better sleep, more balance, or just space to breathe—our free courses can help.
Simple ways to manage stress
Here are some easy techniques you can try right now—based on practical tools used in our Recovery College courses:
- Stick to a daily routine – Regular routines help bring stability and structure to your day.
- Get outside – Even 10 minutes of fresh air or nature can help clear your mind.
- Write it down – Try keeping a notebook or journal where you can offload worries or reflect on your day.
- Take screen breaks – Give your mind and body a rest from phones and computers.
- Try one thing at a time – Multitasking can increase stress. Focus on doing one thing, then move to the next.
- Reach out – Talk to someone you trust. You don’t have to figure everything out on your own.
Want to explore more techniques like these? Our courses are free, welcoming, and open to anyone aged 16+ who lives or works in Surrey or North East Hampshire.
