The Managing Emotions Programme is a service helping people struggling with fluctuating, intense emotions, including people with complex needs and traits of personality disorder. No formal diagnosis of illness is needed to join the Programme which is accessed via GP referral.
People taking part in the programme can choose to attend any or all three MEP courses designed to help manage emotions. All courses are co-produced and co-delivered with people who have lived experience of difficulties associated with a diagnosis of personality disorder. In fact, more than 50% of MEP staff have lived experience of mental health difficulties.
A further course is available specifically for carers.
SUN’ Peer Support
The Service User Network (SUN) offers community-based, peer support to help people manage complex emotions.
A clinician and peer support worker with lived experience of personality disorder lead different support groups where people talk about their experiences and share help and advice.
The groups are available weekly, both online and face-to-face. The face-to-face group meets at Farnborough library 11am-1.30pm every Thursday.
People need to register to become SUN members before booking their first group, but after this can drop in to future groups.
