What is the study about?

INDV-2000 is a study testing a new medicine for treating opioid addiction. The study aims to find out how the medicine affects the brain's reaction to drug cues in people with opioid addiction by using brain scans. This medication may help to reduce craving and symptoms of withdrawal, preventing relapse.

Who can take part?

We are looking for people aged between 18-65 years, who have a history of opioid addiction and are now on a stable dose of take-home methadone (but no more than 120 mg). Participants must pass the screening phase of the study to ensure it is suitable for them to take part in the trial.

What is involved?

The study involves five total visits (one screening visit, three study sessions and one follow-up visit). In each session, participants will take their usual dose of methadone, and then a dose of study medication or placebo. Participants will also have a functional MRI (fMRI) scan after their dose and have blood samples taken. Participants receive £520 compensation for their time, plus travel expenses.
