Section 132, 132a and 133 Rights Policy
The aim of this policy is to give all staff clear guidance on the correct procedure to follow once a patient has been detained. This will ensure the detained patient and nearest relative are immediately empowered to invoke their rights under the Mental Health Act (1983) - specifically Sections 132, 132A and 133 and the MHA Code of Practice 2015.
