Getting the right mental health support
We're here to support your mental health and emotional well-being, whether you are a child, young person or adult. The guidance below explains how to access our range of services.
Crisis support
Our Crisis support services are here for you if you are experiencing a mental health crisis or emotional distress. Mental health professionals will take time to understand how you are feeling and provide you with mental health guidance and support.
- Our Crisis Line is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week and is available to anyone living in Surrey or North East Hampshire. You can also call the Crisis Line for help if you are concerned about the mental health of a friend or relative.
-
Our five Safe Havens, are open in the evenings and on weekends and are for adults living in Surrey and North East Hampshire. You can visit the Safe Havens in person or receive support virtually.
Support without a referral
We offer a range of mental health support services that you can access without the need for a professional referral:
- Mind Matters Surrey, our talking therapies service, can help you if you are feeling low, anxious or stressed. Accredited therapists offer individual therapies, and guided self-help online and group courses. It is available to anyone aged 17+ registered with a GP in Surrey.
- Recovery College offers a range of courses to help people better understand and manage their mental health needs, recover and stay well. They are delivered by specially trained Recovery Coaches, who have lived experience of mental or physical ill health, alongside mental health professionals and are available to adults living in Surrey or North East Hampshire.
- Service User Network (SUN) offers regular support groups for people with complex emotional needs or personality disorders. These peer-led groups provide a safe space to share and get support from both trained professionals and people with lived experience. They are available to anyone living in Surrey and North East Hampshire.
Support through your GP
You can access a wide range of mental health support through our new primary care mental health services, available through your GP. These services take a holistic view of a person's mental health and emotional well-being needs and offer specialised support for a range of conditions including eating disorders and complex emotional needs. They aim to provide support early on to support recovery and prevent a person from becoming more seriously unwell. Ask your GP for more information.
- In Surrey Heath, Farnham, or North East Hampshire, the service is known as Mental Health Integrated Community Service (MHICS).
- In other parts of Surrey, the same service is known as GP Integrated Mental Health Service (GPimhs).
