Our Surrey High Intensity Partnership Programme supporting people with severe mental ill-health who frequently present to the emergency service in crisis, was last week ‘highly commended’ at the 2020 HSJ Awards.
SHIPP has been developed by our Trust in partnership with Surrey Police and involves close collaboration with emergency services across Surrey. The programme was highly commended in the Mental Health Innovation of Year category ‘in recognition of its outstanding commitment to excellence in healthcare over the past 12 months.” SHIPP was one of 186 finalists at the 2020 HSJ Awards.
Commenting on SHIPP, the HSJ Judges said: ‘We were impressed by the multi-agency partnership approach to supporting a specific group of service users. There was really strong evidence of benefits to all partners and most importantly to patients. The economic impact made in just 2 years is impressive with savings being made already.’
SHIPP supports people with complex mental health needs. Tailored care plans are developed to help people better manage their mental health and ensure they have access to the right support to aid their recovery and reduce dependency on emergency services.
